Food toxicology

Food toxicology is concerned with theinjurious effect of chemicals present in food. The chemical agent may be eitherman-made or natural origin. Food and nutritional toxicologists deal with thehealth effects of high nutrient intakes, and the interactions between toxicants and nutrients. In the foodprocessing industry pesticides and food, additives areused in large quantity. Because of this toxic substance in food leads to health disorder in all living organisms. The sources of food toxicity are of both biological and environmental in nature. Major biological sources are viral, bacterial, and fungal contamination whichcauses typhoid fever, cholera and diarrhoea.
